Precision-engineered street, highway, and municipal luminaires supporting Zhaga nodes, DALI-2 drivers, and IoT dimming control.
As modern municipalities transition toward the internet of things (IoT), the traditional outdoor streetlamp is evolving into a critical data node. Modern LED Smart Systems represent the convergence of high-efficiency solid-state lighting and sophisticated telemanagement technologies. By embedding smart sensors, smart drivers (such as DALI-2 and 1-10V dimming protocol interfaces), and standardized Zhaga or NEMA nodes, urban zones can achieve over 70% energy savings while laying down the foundation for smart city networks.
At Austar Lighting Co., Ltd., based in the global die-casting capital of Ningbo, China, we operate at this absolute frontier. Established in 2003, we bring over two decades of optical manufacturing experience to worldwide projects. Partnering with elite Italian lighting designers, our systems merge European design aesthetics with advanced, optimized engineering, bringing ENEC, CE, and CB-approved products to more than 55 countries and regions.
Leading the transition toward decentralized, intelligent networks with advanced photometrical designs and control hardware.
Adhering to Book 18 standards to facilitate interoperability between drivers and smart sensor nodes. This allows direct installation of photocells, motion sensors, and communications nodes from various global providers without rewiring the luminaire.
Developing sensory networks that collect local weather, vehicle density, and pedestrian transit data to dynamically dim or brighten lighting systems, optimizing energy efficiency in real-time according to local traffic changes.
Researching Li-Fi integrations where streetlights act as high-speed wireless access points, providing local communication backhauls in dense urban areas, reducing the load on cellular grids.
The roadmap focuses on transitioning from reactive dimming schedules to autonomous lighting networks. Our current systems offer smart controllers using NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, and Zigbee protocol arrays. These networks feed status updates directly to central management systems (CMS), allowing municipalities to monitor electrical health metrics, schedule dimming matrices, and deploy maintenance fleets via automatic error reporting.
Optical performance is also improving. Using high-efficacy LED modules (achieving up to 160-180 lm/W at luminaire level) paired with premium optic lenses ensures minimal back-scatter and optimal beam alignment. This keeps light exactly where it is needed, protecting wildlife habitats and lowering urban glare ratings in accordance with DarkSky directives.
Systematic smart lighting designs tailored for complex municipal, commercial, and industrial settings.
Deploying smart street lighting configurations over highway networks, municipal roads, and urban arteries. Centralized control centers can monitor energy consumption, program custom dimming patterns for peak or off-peak hours, and pinpoint driver failures immediately to minimize outage times.
Highlighting heritage districts, plazas, and pedestrian walkways using classical outdoor fixtures integrated with modern smart drivers. Our partnership with Italian designers ensures that aesthetic heritage is preserved, matching traditional structural styles with modern, energy-efficient optics.
Rugged, high-wattage smart setups designed for ports, freight yards, and high-vibration manufacturing environments. Integrated with specialized surge protection (10kV/20kV) and IP66 water resistance, these products deliver reliable performance under harsh industrial conditions.
Austar lighting systems undergo strict environmental testing, including salt spray testing for coastal deployments, thermal shock chambers (-40°C to +50°C), and impact resistance certifications up to IK09/IK10, protecting physical assets from vandal damage or extreme weather.
Operating an integrated, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Ningbo, China to guarantee cost efficiency, quality control, and fast delivery.
Austar Lighting's production facility spans over 10,000 square meters. Our vertical integration strategy allows us to manage quality and costs at every step of manufacturing.
Equipped with 1000T, 700T, and 300T high-pressure die-casting machines, we cast our aluminum luminaire bodies in-house. This ensures structural integrity and precise tolerance levels. Our factory also features a fully automatic electrostatic powder coating line, three dedicated assembly lines, and two LED driver-load aging lines where every luminaire is tested for a minimum of 24 to 48 hours before packing and dispatch.
Additionally, our in-house optical and electrical laboratory features advanced diagnostic equipment. We use integrating spheres for spectral testing, goniophotometers for spatial luminous intensity distribution measurement (IES files), waterproof testing rigs, impact testers, and full electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing setups to verify regulatory compliance before shipping.
Deploying smart lighting systems overseas requires meeting strict regional regulations. Austar ensures compliance by maintaining updated certifications, including ENEC, CB, CE, and LVD. This guarantees our fixtures meet European safety, electrical stability, and environmental protection guidelines.
Logistically, our location in Ningbo offers significant shipping advantages. We are located near the Port of Ningbo, one of the world's busiest container terminals, and within easy reach of Shanghai Port. This enables cost-effective ocean freight routes, helping us guarantee competitive shipping rates and reliable transit times for large municipal orders.
